Week 2 in Washington

Well we are on week 2 in WA. Mom had back surgery last week and was released from the hospital on Sunday. She is using a walker and is geting around pretty well, although she is constantly overdoing it. It is a bit challenging taking care of her and Aeraci at the same time, but I am managing well. Aeraci is getting so big, lately she has been dancing in her high chair. And talk about a good eater, she always wants to have what mommy is having including salmon and asparagus!

So we are back in the Tri-Cities, well Aeraci and I are. We have been here a week and are staying until mid-April. Last weekend I had the opportunity to hang out with my best friend Amy K at her brothers wedding reception, and we were able to get a little shopping in too! We had so much fun, and I am so thankful for her friendship. Her husband recently joined the army, so I am hoping their first assignment will be near us on the east coast:) My mom had back surgery on Tuesday, and she came through it fine. She is still in the hospital and in a lot of pain. They are looking at releasing her tomorrow or Saturday. We are praying for a speedy recovery. So needless to say I have been busy running back and forth to the hospital and spending time with family.

It's Been A Great Week

As the title goes, that's what it's been. Last weekend we drove down to Virginia Beach to visit the Messick family and to attend the Wave Women's Coference (only I went to the conference:) I had not seen the Messicks for 2 1/2 years and wow how they have changed. Jacob is a handsome young man of 13, Eli is a sassy 7 with a stylin doo, and Michaela Joy is a beautiful little girl. Oh yeah, Shannon and Alison looked good too! They all surprised me with a birthday cake that Eli, Jacob and Michaela all helped make. I was also able to see Sammy when she came to visit.

Yesterday was my official birthday (the fifth) and I was treated like a princess. I woke up to a clean kitchen, a danish waiting for me, and a dozen beautiful roses and a card from my husband, and an adorable boquet of yellow tulips and a card from Aeraci. The day continued with a trip to Christiana to shop at Costco (yes I love Costco). It was followed by my favorite part of the day where I spent an hour at Borders Books, having a coffee and some quiet reading time while Aaron and Aeraci "got lost":) Then we drove down to Rehoboth Beach and had seafood for dinner. All in all it was a great day to turn 29!

In Recovery

Aeraci has officially had her second cold this week, and because she is such a generous girl, she shared it with her favorite person, mommy! Her cold turned into my flu, but we both are feeling much better today.

Watch Out! Aeraci's on the Road!

Aunt Bre with Aeraci

We made it back to Deleware after a week in Washington. It was good to see family, and for Aeraci to meet great aunts/uncles and cousins. She is still a great traveler, though much more squirmy than before:) The last couple of days she has been fussy, so I'm thinking she's going through a growing phase. She had some shots today, so that has not helped the fussiness! I can't believe she's almost 8 months, time has gone so fast.

Aunt Tiny

The news came Friday afternoon, after a 16 year battle with cancer, Aunt Tiny went to be with the Lord. She was an inspiration to myself and many others. She was like a second mother to me, and I was the daughter her and Uncle Lloyd never had. Aunt Tiny was always there for me with a smile, hug or just an encouraging word. Even when I was young, she always treated me as if I was important and made sure she took time for me. I am sad that I did not make it here before she passed away, but I know she is finally at peace.

<:AtomicElement>I am very glad that Aunt Tiny was able to meet Aeraci and enjoy her. One of her last words to me were "take care of that little one." Aunt Tiny always helped anyone in need, and was a true reflection of the Lord.

<:AtomicElement>I love and miss you Aunt Tiny.
