There's Desert in Washington?

This weekend our friends Audrie and Ryan and baby Moriah drove from Seattle to the Tri-Cities to see us. They have only lived in Washington 9 months, and this was their first trip to the eastern side of the state. Needless to say they were very surprised that the "Evergreen" state was not so green everywhere, and that there IS desert in Washington. We had such a good time with them. We were able to visit and watch Moriah and Aeraci interact. We had not seen them for almost 5 months, and Moriah was only 4 days old at that time. They had a lot of fun together. Aeraci was facinated with baby. Although she is 4 months older and more active, Moriah is the same size, maybe even a little longer!!! Aeraci loved playing with Moriah's face and trying to grab her hair bow.

Audrey and Ryan were introduced to farmer meals by my mom. If you are wondering what farmer meals are, they are when you have double and even triple the amount of food per person!! Needless to say they did not leave hungry!!

It's Cold Here!

It must be a crazy April Fools joke because winter has snuck back in. Today it is rainy and cold and not so much fun. Aeraci is having a great time in the Tri-Cities with her family. She is being spoiled by grandmas and enjoying her time with the rest of her family. We have just under two weeks left here in Washington. Aaron really misses us and we are looking forward to going home.

Aeraci and Grandpa

This weekend has turned out to be quite interesting. My dad and his wife came to town yesterday to see Aeraci. It's only the second time they have seen her. Aeraci was on her best behavior. Today turned out to be a long crazy day. Aeraci did not nap well this morning, so she was fussy until her afternoon nap. Then we went to eat and she tried Mexican food for the first time. Afterwards, we went to Uncle Lloyds house to visit him and Mark and Chrystal. Then Aeraci and I went to Old Country Buffet with my dad and Emma for my Uncle Lawerence and Aunt Hannah's 60th anniverssary. It was great to see family I had not seen in a few years, and for them to meet Aeraci, but our good time was cut short as my grandma was rushed to the emergency room. It seems that she had a UTI, but she will be fine. So that's just a snipit of my crazy life.

Week 2 in Washington

Well we are on week 2 in WA. Mom had back surgery last week and was released from the hospital on Sunday. She is using a walker and is geting around pretty well, although she is constantly overdoing it. It is a bit challenging taking care of her and Aeraci at the same time, but I am managing well. Aeraci is getting so big, lately she has been dancing in her high chair. And talk about a good eater, she always wants to have what mommy is having including salmon and asparagus!

So we are back in the Tri-Cities, well Aeraci and I are. We have been here a week and are staying until mid-April. Last weekend I had the opportunity to hang out with my best friend Amy K at her brothers wedding reception, and we were able to get a little shopping in too! We had so much fun, and I am so thankful for her friendship. Her husband recently joined the army, so I am hoping their first assignment will be near us on the east coast:) My mom had back surgery on Tuesday, and she came through it fine. She is still in the hospital and in a lot of pain. They are looking at releasing her tomorrow or Saturday. We are praying for a speedy recovery. So needless to say I have been busy running back and forth to the hospital and spending time with family.

It's Been A Great Week

As the title goes, that's what it's been. Last weekend we drove down to Virginia Beach to visit the Messick family and to attend the Wave Women's Coference (only I went to the conference:) I had not seen the Messicks for 2 1/2 years and wow how they have changed. Jacob is a handsome young man of 13, Eli is a sassy 7 with a stylin doo, and Michaela Joy is a beautiful little girl. Oh yeah, Shannon and Alison looked good too! They all surprised me with a birthday cake that Eli, Jacob and Michaela all helped make. I was also able to see Sammy when she came to visit.

Yesterday was my official birthday (the fifth) and I was treated like a princess. I woke up to a clean kitchen, a danish waiting for me, and a dozen beautiful roses and a card from my husband, and an adorable boquet of yellow tulips and a card from Aeraci. The day continued with a trip to Christiana to shop at Costco (yes I love Costco). It was followed by my favorite part of the day where I spent an hour at Borders Books, having a coffee and some quiet reading time while Aaron and Aeraci "got lost":) Then we drove down to Rehoboth Beach and had seafood for dinner. All in all it was a great day to turn 29!
