New Year, New Home

2009 is here, and we find ourselves not only in a new year, but a new country, new town and a new home. All the boxes are unpacked and now we are trying to put together our hew home. As you all know that is not as easy with a 6 month old. So far we have painted the living room and painted and decorated the nursery. I still have to put up curtains in there, but I have had a good time decorating.Aeraci has reached the milestone of a half a year old, and it's hard for mom and dad to believe!! She has started eating baby food, and we are able to get half of it in her mouth, and the other half everywhere else! Along with milestone of food, she can sit up unassisted and roll over, and she is just days away from crawling.

As for Aaron and I we are trying to plant roots in our new community. We have started attending Calvary Assembly of God and it is quite different than Yomitan International Church. We went from a church of 200 in Okinawa to a church of 2000 in Dover! The great thing about the church is they have a lot to offer. I have started going to a study called the "Truth Project" put on by Focus on the Family, and Aaron has joined the mens group. In addition to the Truth Project, I also go to PWOC (Protestant Women of Chapel) every Tuesday for a women's study. I am meeting new friends and trying to find my place as a stay at home mom in a new community, so that is drawing me into a new group of women, ones where play groups are a form of socialization, who knew!

Last week my friend Lara drove up from North Carolina with her 10 month old son Jack Porter. We had a great time, as it had been over 2 years since we had seen eachother. Aeraci and Jack Porter got along great, though Aeraci is a cuddler and Jack Porter is a very active and fast 10 month old. We are already trying to set up an arranged marriage between the two:) lol.

I'm hoping to keep this blog updated regulary for our family and friends, and with that, if you are ever in Dover there is room at the Owens Inn!!
